One of the unusual aspects of the Hutsuls people is how the magic of living in the Carpathian nature is reflected in their folk art, particularly in Ukrainian Carpathian Hutsul Wood Carving Style – the artistry created in their wood carvings.
With the beauty of Mother Nature as its model their talents were honed into highly efficient and creative master carvers using the many varieties of local woods that were available, sycamore, maple, pear, apple, alder, yew, cedar, walnut and oak.
